Lawrence “Black” Ardoin

Bandleader and son of legendary accordion Boisec Ardoin, Lawrence is a trailblazing artist who bridged the gap between traditional Creole forms and more modern Zydeco styles. In this rare perfomance even the band crosses generational and stylistic lines. Joined here by the man most often associated with his father, fiddler Canray Fontenot, and his son Sean on drums, this recording is a window into the living tradition of Creole music.
